About Us
Sensual Clues, established in 2004, has developed a web-based instrument that helps individuals (primarily couples) better understand their own behavioral patterns. Our primary goal is to increase intimacy in relationships. We have created a platform to identify a person’s sexual desires and to share that knowledge with their partner. The assessments make use of and are built upon the observable behaviors and emotions of a well-validated methodology called the DISC model.
The antecedents of the DISC model date back to ancient Greece. Scientists, mathematicians, and philosophers such as Hippocrates, Empedocles, Aristotle, and Theophrastus first categorized the behavior of people into four temperaments:
Choleric Type = “Dominance”
Sanguine Type = “Influence”
Phlegmatic Type = “Steadiness”
Melancholic Type = “Compliance”
Over the years, various individuals have confirmed and added to the understanding of the DISC model. Most notable is the work of Dr. William Moulton Marston. Dr. Marston, in his book Emotions of Normal People, concluded that there were four basic behavioral styles – Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness. He further stipulated that the intrinsic properties of the DISC model are based upon human emotion. As a result, DISC does not describe other aspects of one’s personality or help to define intelligence. It only measures a person’s behavioral tendencies or “how” each of us deals with problems, people, pace, and procedures.
While each of us naturally tends to be more prevalent in one of the four behavior styles, Marston proclaimed that, “All people exhibit all four behavioral factors in varying degrees of intensity.” Recognizing and understanding how the four factors work together is an invaluable tool in our daily lives. Sensual Clues offers these tools to help people become more aware of their behavior and the effect it has on others.
